Reviving the Iconic Center Cap of AUTOSTRADA MODENA Through Mold Reconstruction from the Original Part
"With no design drawings available and the original manufacturer no longer in existence, the project began as an almost impossible challenge.
Driven by the recent resurgence of the neo-classic car movement, a project was launched with the goal of ""bringing that legendary MODENA back to life for the modern era"".
However, a major obstacle stood in the way. The company that originally manufactured the wheels had already disappeared, and not a single design drawing or technical document remained.
After being turned down by numerous manufacturers, who all stated that ""the intricate logo on the center cap and the delicate specifications of the locking pins could not be recreated"", the project finally found its way to Iwai Kinzoku Metal Mold Manufacturing, located in Sumida Ward, Tokyo, a district that has long supported Japan's manufacturing heritage and craftsmanship."

"The company’s highly advanced press-forming techniques, perfected through years of precision work with materials such as paper and aluminum, along with its extensive experience producing countless logo components, transformed what was once thought impossible into reality.
Using only the limited original pieces that remained, the craftsmen recreated the 3D data with modern technology and meticulously produced a precision mold by hand, designed to bring out the sharp edges and fine details of the metal. From the press-forming process to the final finishing after painting, every detail of the original design was faithfully restored with millimeter-level accuracy."
Celebrated at Tokyo Auto Salon, now ready to debut on the road
